Learn words you'll actually remember.
Every word taught in the course has a picture and a voice. It returns in Review just before you are likely to forget it. Add words from books and podcasts, or import the decks you already have.

A Review card, taken apart.
You first meet each Catalan word in a lesson. In Review, you are prompted in your own language, which makes recall more demanding and helps you remember the word: recall it, say it to yourself, then turn the card to check.
- 1Your language firstProducing a word is harder than recognising it, and it is what you need to do when you speak.
- 2A picture for every wordEvery word taught in the course has its own picture.
- 3One clear formThe base form appears with its article, and with m. or f. when the article does not show the gender. Tap the word to see all its forms.
- 4How it soundsListen to the word and see its pronunciation written out.
- 5A line that uses itA sentence with the word highlighted and its translation. Cards are getting their own sentences season by season.
Learn them, then review them.
Learn a few new words at a time in each lesson, with a picture and voice for each. Then they are added to your Review. Try both.
- Key phrases from the story become cards too, and every line you meet is listed in My words with its translation.
- When many cards are due, fewer new cards are added until you catch up, so your Review workload never grows too large.
One Review for everything.
Review brings together words from the course, your books and podcasts, and your own decks, in one place for a few minutes a day.
Words and phrases
Every card is a word or a short phrase: you see its meaning and say it in the language you are learning, then check.
You choose what feeds it
Select the decks you want to include in Review. Deselect a deck to pause it; nothing is lost.
Focus on one deck
Before a trip or a meeting, learn and review one deck on its own.
Decks, packs and themes.
You can add words beyond the course whenever you want, all with pictures and voices.
Your decks
Your course deck, saved words, a deck for each book or podcast, and imported decks. A word that appears in several decks is still one card.
From the story
Each episode's More words lesson, available season by season after you complete the episode.
Packs
Sets of ten words. Each shows how many words are new to you and how many you already have.
Themes
One shelf for each topic, with sets of ten words by level and a deck for each theme.
Save words from books and podcasts.
While reading a book or following a podcast transcript, tap any word to see its meaning in your language, its pronunciation and its grammar. Tap again to save it.
- Each saved word is stored in that book's deck with the sentence where you found it.
- Save a sentence to make it a phrase card: you recall it from its meaning, like a word.
- Podcasts are free. Books and audiobooks will be part of the paid plan.

Bring the decks you have.
You can bring years of Anki cards or a Quizlet set with you. Import them to include them in the same Review as everything else.
- AnkiImport your .apkg packages, old or new.
- Quizlet and spreadsheetsImport exported text, CSV or pasted text; the columns are matched for you.
- KindleImport Vocabulary Builder words and highlights, with each word's sentence, into the deck for that book.
- Files are read on your device. Import will be part of the paid plan. An imported deck remains inactive until you start it.
Questions about vocabulary.
Why do cards start in my language?
Recalling a word yourself helps you remember it much better than recognising it. You need to recall words when speaking.
In which language are the prompts?
English, Czech, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish or Russian for the course cards. Imported decks keep the language of their file.
How long does Review take?
Usually a few minutes a day. If you miss a few days, you can resume Review when you return, and fewer new cards are added until you catch up.
Will my Anki progress come with it?
No. Your Anki review history is not copied, so every imported word starts as new. Words you already have are not duplicated.
