Practice by level or topic.

Grammar comes up in every story lesson. When you want more, you can explore it separately, with every point available from day one.

Path

All the points you can practice are arranged from easy to hard: first by level, then in teaching order, with each point's prerequisites first. Each level shows how much you have practiced.

By topic

Explore the whole grammar as a tree, from broad topics to individual points, with a level filter and search. Points still being written are marked as coming soon.

  • "Suggested" picks your next point; "Mix" drills several at once.

One grammar point, step by step.

Short guided lessons cover one point at a time: a clear explanation, real examples with the form highlighted, and quick practice after each idea. You use what you have learned before moving on. This example comes from a story lesson: try it.

  1. 1ExplainedWritten so you can follow it at any level.
  2. 2ShownReal sentences, with the form highlighted and their meanings below.
  3. 3TriedA few taps in context, with instant feedback and another try until you get it right.
  4. 4ReviewedEach point becomes a review card and returns as a short drill.

Look up any grammar point.

Every point has its own short page explaining how it works, with examples, common mistakes, and more. Read it in a minute whenever you need a reminder.

  • How it works

Short sections, a small table where useful, and the full table at the end.

  • Examples

Sentences with the form highlighted and their meanings below.

  • Common traps

The usual mistake crossed out, with the correct form beside it and an explanation of why.

  • For the curious

Technical terms and finer points are hidden until you choose to read them.

Exercises, all taps.

Short, varied, and always in context. You read, listen, and choose. Nothing advances automatically, and anything you miss comes back at the end.

  • Fill the gap

Choose the form that fits the sentence.

  • Choose the reply

A situation and a few replies: choose what you would say.

  • Build the sentence

Tap the pieces in the right order.

  • Picture recall

A meaning and a few pictures: find the word that matches it.

  • Gaps in a scene

Complete the conversation as it plays.

  • A text with gaps

Fill in the gaps in a text, one at a time.

  • Reading and listening

A short text or recording, with questions in the order you encounter the answers.

  • Hear and pick

Answer by ear; under "Can't listen now" you read it instead.

There is no typing or microphone use. Lessons are designed for the short breaks in your day: on the bus, in a line, or between meetings. Rather than typing answers on a tiny keyboard, you can spend those minutes on more exercises and recall, using one hand. When you can, say things aloud too. We strongly recommend it, and Time to repeat leaves a pause after each line. You get instant feedback and another try until you get it right.

Pronunciation, taken seriously.

Most apps play a word and move on. Here, you first learn to hear the difference, then see exactly which pronunciation mistakes to avoid and how to pronounce the sound correctly, one sound at a time, from A1 to C2.

  • Train your ear

Identify whether sounds are the same or different, where the stress falls, and which word contains the sound. Short drills help you hear each difference clearly.

  • The mistake, then the fix

Each point identifies the pronunciation mistake your own language leads you to make and compares it with the correct pronunciation.

  • Stress and melody

Watch the pitch line being drawn as a word or question plays, and hear where the pitch rises and falls.

  • Every sound, mapped

The alphabet and a chart of every sound, with the letters used to spell it and its IPA transcription.

  • Every example is spoken exactly as transcribed in the IPA, in the Catalan of Barcelona, checked against the IEC standard.
  • Hear the word alone, in a phrase, and in a sentence, and hear the story's characters say it.
  • There is no microphone scoring your voice. A good accent starts with an ear that can hear the difference.

Questions about grammar.

Do I need to know grammatical terms?

No. Everything is explained in plain language. The terms are available if you want to read them.

Can I study grammar on its own?

Yes. Every point is available from day one, whatever your level or how far you have gotten in the story.

Which language is used for the explanations?

English or Czech, written directly in each language rather than translated through English.

How can I practice pronunciation without a microphone?

Say the words aloud whenever you can. Every word, line, and example is there for you to repeat after the recording. We encourage it, but nothing forces you or grades you, so a quiet bus stays quiet. For more practice, turn on Time to repeat. In story scenes and dialogue exercises, it leaves a pause after each spoken line so you can repeat it. Use Play dialogue again whenever you want another pass.
