Season 1 begins on the plane to Barcelona, then takes you to the airport, the metro, a new flat and the bar on the corner. Each season goes a little further, until all of Catalonia feels familiar.
Real talk, at your level.
The neighbours speak as people in Barcelona do, including slang, swearing and dating talk. Every strong word is labelled, with information about who says it to whom and a softer alternative. Choose how much you hear, and change your choice at any time.

A gentler way to say everything. Scenes use the milder version, and no strong words appear.
RealDefault
Hear how people really talk, with a natural mix of mild and strong language. Before the first strong word, a short note explains it and asks whether you want to continue.

Everything in Real, plus a few pictures showing less clothing, never explicit. Available only after you confirm you are 16 or over.
Questions about the story.
Is it a video?
No. Each scene is a voiced conversation that you read and hear, with pictures of the moment. It works well on a phone, on the metro and with the sound off.
Do I have to start at the beginning?
No. Your level test or the level you choose places you in the right season, and all earlier seasons remain open.
Can I learn without the bad language?
Yes. Choose Neutral and each scene uses a version without swearing or vulgar words. You can change this at any time in Settings.
Which Catalan do they speak?
The course teaches Central Catalan, as it is spoken in Barcelona today. A few characters from Valencia and the Balearic Islands speak their own variety. A short note explains it, and you are never asked to use it.
